The Punjab government has announced that Sehat Card medical services will be terminated in government hospitals after June 30.
Sehat Card Company conveyed this decision to all medical superintendents across the province, instructing them to halt all services related to the Sehat Card Scheme after the specified date.
Under this change, all healthcare benefits previously offered through the Sehat Card — a health insurance scheme introduced by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government — will no longer be available in public hospitals.

In its place, the Punjab chief minister Maryam Nawaz has introduced a new health initiative featuring a range of specialized medical service cards. These include separate cards for cornea, cochlear and bone marrow transplants, as well as for dialysis and kidney and liver transplants.
A dedicated Child Card Surgery program under the Punjab government supervision will also be launched, specifically targeting pediatric heart treatment.
The provincial health department has assured the public that, although the Sehat Card program is ending, medical assistance will continue through the new initiative, which is designed to deliver more focused and specialized healthcare services.
