Punjab Himmat Card Program third phase launched

(Web Desk): The Punjab government initiated the third round of the Himmat Card Scheme to benefit people with disabilities in the province.

The scheme will issue 35,000 additional Himmat Cards under this round in addition to 65,000 cards already distributed in previous rounds.

The new phase was inaugurated officially by Provincial Minister Sohail Shaukat Butt, who was overseen by the Department of Social Welfare. He pointed out the initiative as a major step towards social and economic protection of differently-abled individuals.

In the initial phase, 40,000 cards were given, and 25,000 in the second. With the recent launch, the number of beneficiaries will increase to 100,000. Every registered beneficiary will be given Rs. 10,500 as quarterly monetary assistance, to enable them to lead a life with dignity and increased independence.

As per the Chief Minister s directions, the provincial government has targeted issuing 200,000 Himmat Cards this year. According to officials, the scheme not only offers financial assistance but aims to empower special persons by enabling them more strongly in society.

The scheme demonstrates Punjab s resolve towards welfare policies that are inclusive and ensure that no section of the populace is left out.
