LAHORE (Web Desk): Motorway Police have filed a case against Sajjad Mahmood for illegally attempting to cross the motorway on foot near Shahdiwal, Lahore—an act known to cause serious, often fatal, accidents.

According to police sources, Sajjad Mahmood crossed a high-speed motorway illegally, prompting the Motorway Police to lodge a formal complaint at Hanjarwal Police Station. Subsequently, under Sections 290 and 291 of the Pakistan Penal Code, an FIR was registered.

Pedestrian safety remains the force’s top priority, warning that careless attempts to cross motorways have led to tragic outcomes in the past, emphasized Motorway Police spokesperson Syed Imran Ahmad. Instead of pedestrians risking their lives by walking across motorway lanes, Syed Imran Ahmad urged them to use designated footbridges.

The Motorway Police made one arrest and registered 20 cases for similar infractions across various motorway sections—four on M-11 (Lahore–Sialkot), six on M-2 (Lahore–Islamabad), one on M-3 (Lahore–Multan), and nine on both M-4 and M-5 corridors in March 2025 alone.

Strict enforcement campaign is being continued by the Motorway Police; they are cautioning all road users: even a few seconds of negligence can turn into a lifetime of regret.
