ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders discussed the role of Bushra Bibi in party affairs in two meetings held on Wednesday.

PTI held meetings of political and core committees separately in which they deliberated over the strategy adopted in the last protest. The participants of the meetings discussed the role of party founder Imran Khan’s spouse Bushra Bibi in decision-making process at length.

They also discussed the  losses  suffered by the party in last protest staged by the workers in response to imprisoned Imran Khan’s  final  call.

According to sources, the party leaders voiced concerns over former first lady’s role in party affairs, implying that her decision to hold protest at D-Chowk caused huge sufferings. They were of the view that Imran Khan gave consent to hold protest at Sangjani but Bushra Bibi’s assertion to stage protest at D-Chowk caused losses. Due to this decision, party suffered a huge damage and reportedly lost the lives of their party workers.

In the two meetings, held separately, party members berated the Bushra Bibi’s role in party affairs, raising reservations over her role in decision-making. Party leaders said that the decision regarding protest and party matters should be taken by political leadership as Bushra Bibi lacked political comprehension.

As per sources, none of them defended the role of Bushra Bibi, instead they stressed that the process of decision making should be transparent within party and authority should be rested with politicians.

Sources further revealed that party members emphasised that a probe should be launched to determine the magnitude of damage and loss suffered by PTI.

A judicial commission should be formed to launch probe into the incidents, they demanded.

They stressed that if we were acted upon Imran Khan’s directions, we would have in position to hold talks with government. The decision to reach D-Chowk at any cost damaged the trust of workers in party.

It may be recalled that on Nov 13, PTI founder Imran Khan urged supporters to hold protest at Islamabad’s D-Chowk on November 24.
