(Web Desk): Pakistan Accelerated Vehicle Electrification (PAVE) Scheme e-balloting kicked off, selecting 40,000 applicants.

The electronic balloting, with support from the Engineering Development Board (EDB), distributed subsidized electric two- and three-wheelers to the applicants in Pakistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

As per the ministry, 269,161 applications were made, out of which 40,000 were eligible under the scheme through secure online balloting. The draw was monitored by a specific Balloting Oversight Committee to maintain transparency, equity, and even opportunity. Consequently, 40,000 electric two-wheelers and 1,000 electric three-wheelers have been distributed among successful applicants.

Applicants may verify their results via the PAVE Online Portal using their CNIC or Application ID. The ministry assured that subsidy disbursement, facilitation of payment, and delivery of vehicles will be done according to approved procedures, with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) handling vehicle delivery, post-sales services, and warranty guarantees.

Federal Secretary for Industries and Production Saif Anjum opened the event, terming it as a milestone in Pakistan moving towards clean energy transportation. He underlined that the PAVE Scheme, supporting the National Electric Vehicle Policy (NEVP) 2025–30, will create more than 100,000 green jobs, enhance local industry production, and enhance the industrial sector.

Under the program, a subsidy of PKR 50,000 will be given for two-wheelers under bank leasing and PKR 80,000 under self-financed purchase. For three-wheelers, it will be PKR 200,000 (bank leasing) and PKR 400,000 (self-financed).

The ministry termed the program as a revolutionary initiative that will not only render electric mobility affordable to citizens but also help in decreasing carbon emissions and increasing environmental sustainability in Pakistan.
