
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Punjab has issued a weather advisory, warning of the tenth spell of monsoon rains expected to hit the province between September 6 and 9. According to the alert, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely to affect numerous districts, including Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Gujranwala. The forecast also predicts rainfall in Lahore, Gujrat, Sialkot, and surrounding areas during this period.
In particular, the PDMA has expressed concern over the risk of flash flooding in Dera Ghazi Khan between September 7 and 9 due to the anticipated intensity of rainfall. Provincial and district authorities have been instructed to remain vigilant, with commissioners and deputy commissioners directed to implement precautionary measures in vulnerable areas.
While much of the country is expected to experience predominantly hot and dry weather over the next twelve hours, isolated showers accompanied by wind and thunderstorms are forecast in parts of southeast Sindh, southeast Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Pothohar region, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
As of this morning, temperatures in major cities were recorded at 24°C in Islamabad, 26°C in both Lahore and Peshawar, 28°C in Karachi, 22°C in Quetta, 19°C in Gilgit, 24°C in Muzaffarabad, and 17°C in Murree.

Meanwhile, in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the weather remains partly cloudy and mostly dry in areas such as Jammu, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, Baramulla, and Leh. However, Srinagar may experience scattered showers with wind and thunder. Morning temperatures in the region included 15°C in Srinagar, Anantnag, and Shopian, 24°C in Jammu, 14°C in Pulwama and Baramulla, and 6°C in Leh.
