
The police urged citizens to keep their National Identity Card (NIC) to avoid any inconvenience.
According to traffic plan, various roads will be closed to traffic on the night between December 31 and January 1, 2025.
With imposition of section 144 in the city, the security of the city will be on high alert on the New Year s Eve. The arms display, aerial firing and use of fire crackers for a period of two days have banned.
As per plan, the city traffic police urged residents of Defence Housing Authority (DHA) to opt alternative routes to reach their destinations due to the people’s movement towards recreational spots including Clifton, Bagh Ibn-e-Qasim, and Sea View to celebrate the New Year.
The residents of areas would be asked to keep their ID cards to prevent any inconvenience while travelling through alternative routes to reach destinations.
Furthermore, Mauripur Road towards Jinnah Bridge Mai Kolachi would be fully closed to heavy traffic, including tankers, dumpers, and trucks. The heavy traffic will be diverted towards Jinnah Bridge to Hub River Road and Sharea Pakistan.
Parking will banned on Sharea Faisal, Mai Kolachi Road, Korangi Road, Abdullah Haroon Road, Dr Ziaduddin Ahmed Road, MT Khan Road, and others.
The legal action will be taken against modified bike and car silencers, the traffic police warned.
