An FIR was registered against model Azbia Khan and photographer Zain Shah for violating the sanctity of Masjid Wazir Khan. The complaint was filed by Mohammad Awais, an official of the Walled City Lahore Authority (WCLA), after a video clip of their shoot inside the masjid was uploaded on social media.
The official from the WCLA claimed that the model shot the video while wearing an ‘inappropriate’ outfit and without obtaining consent from the relevant authority.
According to the complaint, the video was filmed about four days ago and then shared on social media. The WCLA official added that it not only damaged the department’s reputation but also showed disrespect to the mosque.

However, this is not the first case at Masjid Wazir Khan, a similar case unveiled in 2020 where, the police filed a case against actor Saba Qamar and singer Bilal Saeed after their music video shoot at the mosque caused public outrage. After this, the Punjab Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department banned filming dramas and movies in mosques and shrines.
