(Web Desk): Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), party leader Saad Hussain Rizvi has been injured after being shot during clashes in Muridke amid ongoing nationwide protests.

According to social media reports, Saad Hussain Rizvi sustained injuries while leading a rally alongside his supporters. The demonstrations, which initially began as peaceful protests in solidarity with Gaza, reportedly escalated into violent confrontations in several parts of the country.

Witnesses described chaotic scenes in Muridke as police and protesters clashed, leading to widespread unrest and traffic blockades on major highways. Videos circulating online show crowds chanting slogans and confronting security forces.

Amid these protests law enforcement agencies have intensified security measures across major cities, including Lahore, Islamabad, and Karachi, where tensions remain high.

According to the Motorway Police, the Lahore–Islamabad Motorway (M-2) has been closed for all traffic, with the Baboo Sabu Interchange also sealed off. Entry routes from Thokar Niaz Baig towards the motorway remain blocked, while heavy traffic congestion has been reported on Multan Road, Yateem Khana Chowk, and Chungi Amar Sidhu.

Traffic Police confirmed that major arteries including Ferozepur Road, GT Road (Kahna to Daroghawala), and parts of Lahore Ring Road have been shut down due to the ongoing demonstrations. Barriers and barbed wire have been installed at key entry and exit points, while a heavy police presence is deployed across the city to maintain order.
