Sub-Inspector Misbah Shehbaz, who has shattered gender stereotypes by becoming the first female officer to lead a male police station in the federal capital, was appointed by Islamabad Capital Territory Police.

The posting of Sub-Inspector Misbah Shehbaz as SHO of Phulgran Police Station is the first time ever that a woman has held this position in a male police station in Islamabad.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Muhammad Jawad Tariq ordered the decision to be made as part of the department s continuous efforts to prevent gender discrimination.

In addition to Misbah Shehbaz, five other officers have been assigned to important roles: Shahnawaz as SHO Shams Colony, Mansabdar as SHO Nilore, Basreen Akhtar as Incharge of the Women Police Station, Alamgir Khan as SHO Koral, and Zahid Shah as SHO Loi Bher.

These modifications come after Rizwan Gondal, Abdul Hameed, Khalid Mehmood, and Muhammad Saleem, the former SHOs of Koral, Phulgran, Shams Colony, and Loi Bher, were closed.

The aim of the reshuffle, DIG Jawad Tariq said, is to empower women officers by providing them with leadership opportunities, increase accountability, and enhance performance. He asserted the department s commitment to its vision of providing a friendly environment where women can excel in all areas of law enforcement.
