LAHORE (Web Desk): The Government of Pakistan has launched a transparent and technologically advanced distribution system to provide financial assistance of Rs.13,500 under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) to deserving women.

To facilitate the public, the government has introduced a user-friendly web portal that allows users to confirm payments, check eligibility, and resolve related issues — all from the comfort of their homes.

The portal, available at 8171.bisp.gov.pk, is fully mobile-friendly, making it accessible even for residents of remote rural areas. Applicants simply need to enter their CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card) number to check whether they are eligible, whether their payment has been processed, or if further steps are required.

According to officials, only women who meet BISP’s eligibility criteria can benefit from this program. These criteria include:

  • Being the head of the household
  • Having a computerized CNIC
  • Possessing a PMT (Poverty Means Test) score of 34 or below
  • Not being employed in any government job
  • Not owning valuable property or luxury vehicles
  • Completion of biometric verification

If an applicant does not meet these conditions, the system will automatically declare them ineligible.

It is important to note that after entering CNIC details on the portal, if payment confirmation is successful, the applicant is shown payment details and can collect the funds from the nearest BISP camp. In case of biometric verification issues or outdated NSER (National Socio-Economic Registry) data, the applicant is advised to visit the nearest BISP Tehsil office.

In a statement issued by the government, it was announced that this service will remain available until June 30, 2025. All eligible individuals are urged to confirm their information before the deadline to receive financial assistance. Officials emphasized that the goal of this timely aid is to provide economic relief to the country’s poor and vulnerable population — with dignity and transparency.
