
CM Punjab announced this deadline extension amid recent floods that broke educational activities in various districts, leaving students at a loss to apply in time.
Initiated by the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC), Honhaar Scholarship scheme intends to relieve the economic pressure on families as well as facilitate deserving students to pursue studies without disruption. Almost 30,000 scholarships will be provided, paying full tuition fee for students pursuing their undergraduate studies at public sector universities and colleges.
The program, according to authorities, serves a vital purpose in ensuring low-income households and ensuring students continuity of education, especially in cases of crises like natural disasters. Students from families affected by floods have been particularly urged to apply.
Eligibility standards are Punjab domicile, a family income of Rs. 300,000–350,000, and 60–70% marks in intermediate. The applicants have to be enrolled in a public sector institution and not get any such financial assistance. For medical and dental students, it covers those in 2nd–5th year, whereas semester-based standards are applicable in other fields.

Applications may be submitted only online through the PHEC Scholarship Portal, with valid CNIC details, transcripts, income certificates, and verification of enrollment. The Commission requested that students apply much in advance to prevent last-minute server problems.
The extension expresses the government s determination to help students during trying times while ensuring equal access to higher education in Punjab.
