ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) In a decisive move against illegal immigration, the federal government has blocked the passports of 53,000 Pakistanis who were deported from various countries.

This development was revealed during a high-level meeting at the Directorate of Immigration and Passports, chaired by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Interior Secretary Muhammad Khurram Agha, FIA Director General Riffat Mukhtar Raja, and DG Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi also attended the meeting.

The officials briefed the Interior Minister that complete data had been gathered about the individuals deported from abroad, and their passports have been officially blocked.

Mohsin Naqvi instructed authorities to swiftly finalise all legal processes under the new passport issuance conditions, in order to curb illegal immigration and the use of forged documents in the future.

He added that this measure would not only discourage begging and unauthorized migration but also help enhance Pakistan’s image globally.

Minister of State Talal Chaudhry praised the decision, stating that it would send a strong message worldwide that Pakistan is taking serious action against illegal activities.
