ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): In a move to provide opportunities for those who could not apply last time, the federal government has reopened the hajj applications.

The government has resumed the process of applications under the remaining quota of the government Hajj scheme, the Ministry of Religious Affairs declared.

This development comes as the ministry seeks to ensure the utilisation of the full quota of the federal government. With the new development, 5,000 more aspirants will be able to apply on the basis of first-come and first-served.

According to details, the new applications will be accepted within a specified window. It is reported that the concerned ministry is mulling over a proposal to limit the duration of submission to five days.

It is pertinent to note that the government received 81,500 applications under the Hajj scheme, and the decision to allow more pilgrims is aimed at providing opportunities for those who were unable to secure their spot in the initial round of applications.

To ensure the fairness and efficiency, there will be no lottery for the new applications, streamlining the process.

The officials underscored the importance of the move, which is not only intended to maximize the quota allocation but also to ensure that no opportunity is lost to send pilgrims to the Holy Land.
