Yasmeen Tahir death news was confirmed by her family. Her funeral prayer will be offered after Asar prayer on Sunday.

She had been undergoing treatment at a local hospital for the past few days.

Born, in 1937, Yasmen Tahir belonged to a distinguished literary family.

She was the daughter of distinguished literary personalities Syed Imtiaz Ali Taj and Hijab Imtiaz Ali, wife of veteran actor Naeem Tahir, and mother of renowned personalities Farhan, Mehran, and Ali Tahir.

With her lovely voice and unparalleled vocal communication, Yasmeen Tahir was a strength of Pakistan s broadcasting world.

Brought up in a family that was synonymous with books, plays, and intellectualism, Yasmeen carried the illustrious tradition of her family with dignity and poise.

Her father, Syed Imtiaz Ali Taj, was a renowned playwright and writer of the classic drama Anarkali, and her mother, Hijab Imtiaz Ali, was the first Muslim woman pilot and an award-winning novelist.

Her husband Naeem Tahir is a renowned personality in theater and television, and her sons, especially Ali Tahir, have taken a cue from her by making substantial contributions to the Pakistani entertainment world.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions to broadcasting, Government of Pakistan awarded Yasmeen with Sitara-i-Imtiaz in 2015
