LAHORE: (Web Desk) A nine-day long holiday period is expected for the public in Pakistan on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr 2025.

According to details, based on the expected date for the sighting of the Eid-ul-Fitr moon, Pakistanis may enjoy a 9-day holiday from March 29 to April 6.

According to the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), the Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to observe on March 31.

More often than not, government announces three holidays for Eid, but if the government announces official holidays from March 29 (Saturday) to April 2 (Wednesday) and grants additional leave on April 3 and 4 (Thursday and Friday), it could extend to a continuous 9-day holiday.

No official announcement has been made yet, and the schedule for government holidays will depend on the government s approval and the announcement of the moon sighting.

According to astronomers, this year’s Ramazan will last 29 days, and Eid-ul-Fitr is most likely to observe on March 31. The Shawwal crescent is expected to be sighted on March 30, with the moon s age being 26 hours at sunset, making the chances of sighting quite clear.

However, the final announcement regarding the moon sighting will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
