(Web Desk): Punjab government has launched mobile license vans for making the process of issuing or renewing driving license easier, taking the service to the doorstep of the people.

Officials stated that the driving license vans have been launched under the Chief Minister s vision to bring government services closer and more convenient to the people. The specially designed mobile police stations and license vans will run in each district of Punjab so that citizens do not need to wait in long lines or go to crowded license offices.

DIG Traffic Muhammad Waqas Nazir informed that the vans will also go to women s colleges and universities in order to promote higher levels of participation by female applicants. In the initial phase, 33 mobile vans have been placed on the roads, and the fleet size will be increased to 118 in the next few months.

To further drive inclusivity, seven of the vans have been reserved exclusively for women and will be painted pink to make them easy to recognize. This move, officials added, demonstrates the government s determination to empower women by making public services safer and more accessible.

The authorities are of the view that this step will not only accelerate the licensing process but also lighten the load on existing centers.
