Quetta, Pakistan – A powerful explosion struck near the Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters at Pishin Stop on Zarghun Road in Quetta on Tuesday, killing at least three people and injuring 19 others, according to police officials.
The blast, which occurred in close proximity to the FC installation, triggered intense gunfire in the area. Security forces swiftly responded to the scene and cordoned off the entire vicinity, launching a search operation to secure the area and determine the source of the explosion.
Witnesses reported hearing a loud bang followed by sustained firing. Video footage circulating on local media shows plumes of thick smoke rising above the skyline, highlighting the scale and impact of the explosion.
Emergency services and police units were quickly dispatched to the site. Rescue teams provided initial medical assistance on the ground and began transporting the injured to nearby hospitals. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims.
“The nature of the blast is under investigation,” a senior police official said, adding that specialized bomb disposal squads and forensic teams are now working to analyze the site.
The area around Zarghun Road and Pishin Stop remains sealed off as law enforcement continues its operations. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack at the time of reporting.
