Balochistan govt suspends cellular, internet services for two days in Quetta
QUETTA (Web Desk): The provincial government has suspended internet and cellular services for two days in Balochistan’s capital Quetta

As the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) announced the shutter-down strike, Balochistan government suspended internet and cellular services.

The JUI announced to hold protest against alleged "rigging" during the re-polling in Balochistan Assembly s PB-45 constituency.

JUI-F s provincial emir said that the protest would continue until the demands were met. The re-polling results declared victory of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Ali Madad Khattak with 6,883 votes, as per unofficial results.

Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP) candidate Nasarullah Zayrai took second place with 4,122 votes, while the JUI-F s Usman Pirkani secured third with 3,731 votes.

The seat had previously been held by Haji Ali Madad Jattak of PPP. Recently, the Supreme Court of Pakistan rejected an appeal by Mir Ali Madad Jattak, a PPP candidate, challenging the election tribunal s decision to recount votes at 15 polling stations in PB-45.

The court upheld the tribunal s decision, which identified irregularities in the election process, including fraud in Form 45 at several polling stations.
