According to police sources, Tefi Butt fled abroad immediately after the incident, after which international efforts were made to arrest him by declaring him a fugitive. According to police, Khawaja Tareef alias Tefi Butt was named as the main accused in the murder case of Lahore’s well-known businessman and social figure Ameer Balaj Tipu.

Last year, the police had formally requested the Interior Ministry to take action against him. After the approval of the Interior Ministry, a red warrant was issued for the accused and a request was made to Interpol for his arrest.

According to the latest reports, a special team of Punjab Police arrested Tefi Butt in Dubai with the help of Interpol, who will soon be transferred to Pakistan so that the investigation into the case can be completed.

It is important to note that a day ago Joint Investigation Team (JIT), formed to investigate the murder of Amir Balaj Tipu, had found Khawaja Aqeen alias Gogi Butt guilty in this case. The report stated that Gogi Butt planned the murder of Amir Balaj and was in constant contact with the main accused Tefi Butt for this purpose. According to sources, Gogi Butt has been nominated in various cases of murder of the Tipu family in the past as well, while after the murder of Amir Balaj, he had fled from the scene.

The incident took place in a private housing society near Thokar Niaz Baig, where Amir Balaj Tipu was attending the wedding ceremony of the son of former DSP Akbar Iqbal. During the ceremony, an attacker suddenly opened fire, injuring three people including Amir Balaj Tipu. The injured were immediately shifted to the hospital, but Amir Balaj succumbed to his injuries.

During the initial investigation, the police had revealed that Amir Balaj’s close friend Ahsan Shah was involved in the murder, who was arrested along with another accomplice. However, during the investigation, it was revealed that the incident was planned jointly by Gogi Butt and Tefi Butt, who carried out the operation due to personal grudges and financial disputes.

Police officials say that more revelations are expected in the case after Tefi Butt s transfer to Pakistan, and it is possible that this arrest will fully reveal all aspects of the Amir Balaj Tipu murder case
