High-Level Diplomatic Missions to Washington
Field Marshal Asim Munir made several high-profile visits to the United States, including meetings with President Trump and discussions on Gaza and regional stability. A White House lunch highlighted Pakistan’s renewed strategic relevance.
These meetings covered troop contributions, security cooperation, and long-term regional stability, reinforcing Pakistan’s role in global peace efforts.
Strengthening Middle East Partnerships
Saudi Defence Collaboration – Pakistan signed a mutual defence pact with Saudi Arabia in September, expanding joint security cooperation and cementing Pakistan’s regional defence significance.
Libya Arms Exports – Pakistan concluded a $4 billion arms agreement with Libya, alongside trade deals, reflecting a pragmatic foreign policy approach. Counterterrorism cooperation with Turkiye against ISIS also advanced.
Strategic Cooperation with China and CPEC Progress
China praised Pakistan’s use of its defence systems during the India conflict, boosting bilateral ties. This also accelerated work on the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), reinforcing Pakistan’s strategic importance.
