‘Zero tolerance’ for threats to Pakistan’s security, says CDF Asim Munir

LAHORE (Web Desk): Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) Field Marshall Asim Munir said, Pakistan Army vows no tolerance for political or other malicious interests undermining security, reaffirming commitment to national unity and stability.

During the 273rd Corps Commanders’ Conference at GHQ Rawalpindi, chaired by CDF Field Marshal Asim Munir, the army reviewed the internal and external security environment.

The conference offered Fateha for the Shuhada of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians who sacrificed their lives defending Pakistan against terrorism and foreign-sponsored threats.

Field Marshal Munir praised the courage, professionalism, and sacrifices of the armed forces, highlighting intelligence-based counterterrorism operations that have strengthened national security in recent months.

The forum emphasized that all terrorists supported by Indian sponsors, along with their facilitators, would be dealt with decisively and without exception. It also rejected any link between terrorism, crime, and vested political interests, underlining that no group could create divisions between the armed forces and the people of Pakistan.

Officials appreciated Balochistan Special Development Initiatives (BSDI) that focus on local empowerment and governance to combat terrorism, suggesting similar public-focused programs across the country under the National Action Plan (NAP).

The conference reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Kashmir’s right to self-determination and Pakistan’s principled stance on Palestine, calling for a permanent ceasefire, humanitarian access to Gaza, and a credible pathway to Palestinian statehood.

In conclusion, CDF Munir directed commanders to maintain high standards of operational readiness, discipline, training, fitness, technology, and battlefield adaptability. He expressed confidence in the army’s ability to handle conventional, sub-conventional, hybrid, and asymmetric threats while safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
