The meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, regional security dynamics, and defense cooperation. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a relationship grounded in mutual respect, shared values, and strategic interests.
The U.S. lawmakers commended the role of Pakistan’s armed forces in combating terrorism and acknowledged the resilience and strategic capabilities of Pakistan and its people.
The delegation reiterated respect for Pakistan’s sovereignty and expressed a strong commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in areas such as security, trade, investment, and economic development.
General Asim Munir thanked the U.S. delegation for their visit and conveyed Pakistan’s interest in further strengthening and expanding the enduring U.S.-Pakistan partnership.
Earlier discussions between U.S. and Pakistani officials also covered bilateral ties and cooperation in key areas including economy, trade, investment, security, counter-terrorism, and border management.
Pakistan’s delegation included Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Acting U.S. Ambassador Natalie Baker, and Interior Secretary Khurram Agha.
