COAS blames foreign powers for ‘digital terrorism’ in country

KAKUL: (Suno News) Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir has said that foreign powers are behind the current surge in “digital terrorism” and added that it aims to drive a wedge between the national security institutions and the people of Pakistan.

The COAS stated this while speaking at the Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul during the Independence Day parade. The COAS highlighted the importance of countering terrorist activities under “Azm-i-Istehkam” operation.

He said that those making attempts to destabilise the nation would ultimately face disappointment.

He urged the Afghanistan government not to favour the Khawarij and honour its longstanding relationship with Pakistan.

The army chief misinformation on social media was being exploited by the country’s adversaries to incite chaos and undermine the military.

He said that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees freedom of speech but it is not beyond limits.

Regarding Balochistan, he said that the military, along with the federal and provincial governments, was committed to ensuring the security and welfare of the Baloch people.

He warned that no attempt to destabilise the province would be tolerated.

He thanked friendly nations including China, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, and Turkiye, for their support on various issues.

He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the Kashmir cause and condemned the ongoing atrocities in Gaza by Israeli forces.

The COAS also spoke on various other key issues including the resurgence of the Fitna Al Khawarij (FAK) also known as the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and tensions on the Western border.

The grand Independence Night Parade marked Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day. The COAS was chief guest for the ceremony.

The cadets of the Pakistan Military Academy showcased their exceptional drill skills in a unique performance.

The event also honored the martyrs of Pakistan and highlighting the nation’s vibrant and spirited celebration of its independence.
