(Web Desk): Imran Khan requests a medical checkup by Shaukat Khanum doctors as his legal cases and jail meetings take new turns.

Former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court seeking permission to undergo a medical examination by specialist doctors from Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital. The request was submitted through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohaib Afridi on Thursday.

Petition cites multiple health concerns

In the petition, it was stated that Imran Khan is facing several health issues and requires a detailed assessment from expert oncologists and senior medical specialists at Shaukat Khanum. The Punjab government has been made a respondent in the case through the prison department, as Khan is currently lodged in jail.

Case adjourned due to pending response

Meanwhile, a separate case against Imran Khan—related to alleged threats made to a female judge—was scheduled for hearing before Civil Judge Mureed Abbas. The proceedings, however, were postponed until December 17 due to the court not receiving a reply to the letter earlier sent to the Islamabad High Court. The judge directed authorities to submit a progress report at the next hearing.

PTI leaders allowed to meet Imran Khan in jail

Thursday has also been designated as the official meeting day for Imran Khan’s close associates. PTI has provided the jail administration with a list of six individuals approved for the meeting. The list, issued by Salman Akram Raja, was handed over by Advocate Chaudhry Owais Younis. Those permitted to meet Khan include CM KP Sohaib Afridi, MNA Shahid Khattak, provincial minister Shafqat Ayaz, and KP Assembly members Asim Khan, Riaz Khan, and Arshad Ayub.
