The warning came during a press conference held at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad, where party leaders expressed serious concern about what they described as the deteriorating health of Imran Khan.
PTI leaders demanded that Imran Khan be immediately shifted to Shifa International Hospital for specialized medical treatment. They said the former prime minister remains the most popular and widely loved leader of the nation and deserves proper medical care and access to doctors.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi strongly criticized the federal government over what he called its “irresponsible and illegal conduct” regarding the health and treatment of the PTI founder.
“The party founder is not an ordinary citizen; he is the former prime minister of Pakistan, and the government has both a legal and moral responsibility to ensure that he receives proper medical treatment,” Afridi said.
He claimed that authorities have refused to allow Imran Khan’s personal doctors and family members to meet him. According to Afridi, this restriction violates basic human rights and legal procedures. He warned that PTI would not tolerate such behavior and is fully prepared to launch a major movement for the party founder’s release if the situation does not improve.
However, Afridi said the party had temporarily slowed down political activities out of respect for the holy month of Ramadan. He added that despite this pause, the party’s preparations and determination remain strong. PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President and Member of the National Assembly Junaid Akbar also spoke at the press conference.
He alleged that the government is continuing a broader political crackdown against the party. He referred to the disqualification of PTI senators and restrictions on party workers as examples of political pressure.

Junaid Akbar also warned that Pakistan’s foreign policy situation is becoming more complicated, particularly regarding relations with the Taliban administration in Afghanistan.
He said the continued mistreatment of Imran Khan could further increase political tensions in the country. Senior PTI leader and lawyer Babar Awan described the secrecy surrounding Imran Khan’s medical condition as a serious issue. He warned that if any harm comes to the former prime minister due to a lack of proper medical care, those responsible will be held accountable.
Awan said the party’s struggle would remain peaceful and within the limits of the law. Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa finance minister Taimur Jhagra said PTI continues to stand firmly with the Constitution. He warned that the government’s behavior could widen the gap between the public and state institutions.
“Medical treatment is a fundamental right,” he said. “The government must decide now if it wants to de-escalate.”
PTI lawmaker Shahid Khattak said the party is not trying to politicise the issue. He said leaders are genuinely worried that delays in medical treatment could cause serious and irreversible harm to Imran Khan’s health and vision. Khattak urged the judiciary to quickly hear pending cases related to the PTI founder.
He also requested the courts to order his immediate transfer to Shifa International Hospital for proper medical treatment. PTI leaders also appealed to the courts and authorities to ensure the protection of Imran Khan’s legal rights and well-being.
They stressed that the party will continue its struggle through constitutional and legal means.
