After meeting with PTI founding Chairman Imran Khan, his sister Aleema Khan told the reporters that he decided to delay the civil disobedience call.
He demanded a judicial inquiry into May 9, 2023 and November 26, 2024 incidents. He threatened federal government to kick off civil disobedience movement if his demands are not met.
Aleem Khan stated that party founder has warned of asking overseas Pakistanis to send remittances if their demands are not met.
"Overseas Pakistanis are in contact, who are ready to halt sending money, but the PTI members advised Khan to wait lest any harm comes to the country," she stated, adding that he continued to struggle for supremacy of Constitution in the country.
He also recalled the chain of incidents occurred following his ouster. He pointed out that plethora of PTI workers arrested after both incidents. He alleged that violence was inflicted upon party workers.
Earlier, the Imran Khan had threatened to initiate a civil disobedience movement on December 14. He also announced a five-member committee to hold negotiations with the federal government.
The federal government dismissed the prospect of negotiations with the PTI in the face of threat of civil disobedience movement. It seems that PTI delayed the call in a bid to foster the conducive environment for talks.
