The Punjab government has announced revisions to the school curriculum for the academic year 2026–27, focusing specifically on Class 9 Computer Science and Entrepreneurship subjects. Most other textbooks will remain unchanged, according to the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB).
The PCTB confirmed that a reviewed and updated Computer Science syllabus will be printed for Grade 9, while the number of pages in Computer Science and Entrepreneurship (Tech) textbooks will be reduced to streamline content and improve learning efficiency.

Authorities have instructed printing presses to update the orders for these textbooks immediately. Educational institutions have also been directed to implement the revised curriculum without delay to ensure students receive the updated materials on time.
Officials explained that the revisions aim to promote modern knowledge, creative thinking, and a better educational understanding among students, aligning learning with contemporary academic and professional needs.
Education experts have welcomed the move, describing it as a positive step towards enhancing teaching quality. They emphasized that regular curriculum updates are crucial to keeping educational content relevant and effective. Many expressed hope that the changes would improve both student engagement and overall learning outcomes in the province.
