The Punjab Higher Education Department has officially announced winter vacations for colleges and universities across the province from December 23, 2025, to January 10, 2026, temporarily suspending academic activities during the peak winter season.

According to a notification issued on Monday, all public and private colleges and universities will remain closed from December 23, 2025, to January 10, 2026. Institutions will reopen on Monday, January 12, following a weekend gap.

The department clarified that the decision applies uniformly across Punjab; however, BS four-year degree programs will continue academic activities without interruption.

Authorities also confirmed that examinations will proceed according to already announced schedules by respective boards and universities.

Earlier, the Punjab School Education Department announced winter vacations for schools from December 22, 2025, to January 10, 2026, citing fog, cold weather, and travel difficulties.
