The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has approved a new initiative aimed at improving students’ handwriting and overall writing skills across its network of partner schools, marking another step toward strengthening foundational education in the province.
Under the project, PEF has signed a formal agreement with Educational National Services (CNS) to provide specialized training in handwriting, writing techniques, and calligraphy to students enrolled in PEF-affiliated institutions. The initiative is designed to help students develop clearer writing habits, better presentation skills, and stronger written communication, which are considered essential for academic success.
The agreement was signed by PEF Deputy Managing Director for Support Services Bushra Naseer and CNS Chief Executive Officer Amjad Hassan, officially launching the program. Officials said the partnership reflects PEF’s commitment to innovative and practical learning solutions that directly benefit students at the classroom level.
According to PEF, the project will focus on early-grade and middle-level students, where handwriting skills play a critical role in learning outcomes and examination performance. Trained instructors will guide students through structured exercises aimed at improving letter formation, spacing, speed, and overall writing clarity.

Education experts believe poor handwriting can negatively affect students’ confidence and academic results, even when subject knowledge is strong. By addressing this issue, PEF hopes to improve students’ performance across subjects and promote discipline and creativity through calligraphy.
The foundation said the program will be gradually implemented in PEF-supported schools, with regular monitoring to assess its impact. The initiative is part of PEF’s broader strategy to enhance quality education and learning standards for students in Punjab.
