(Web Desk): Winter vacation has been announced for Sindh, Punjab and Islamabad schools as students and teachers get ready for holiday fun.

Islamabad’s federal schools and colleges will close for winter holidays starting 26 December, according to a notification from the Directorate of Education. Classes will resume on 5 January 2026, giving students and teachers a much-needed break.

Earlier, Sindh had announced winter vacations for both government and private schools from 22 December to 31 December. Classes will resume on 1 January 2026, though board supplementary exams will continue as scheduled.

Punjab’s government also declared winter holidays from 22 December 2025 to 10 January 2026 for all public and private schools. Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said the decision was made after considering the cold weather, expert advice, and feedback from parents and teachers.

During the holidays, all government and private schools, including primary, middle, high, and higher secondary schools, will remain closed. District education authorities have been notified to ensure proper implementation of the break.

The minister urged parents to take precautions to protect children from the harsh cold and to use the holidays for positive and productive activities.

Winter vacations across Pakistan provide students with rest and safety during extreme cold. Early planning and awareness can make the break enjoyable and healthy. Teachers can also use this time for preparation and training, keeping schools ready for the new term.
