Punjab’s historic scholarship programme to launch on Dec 4

LAHORE (Web Desk): The government of Punjab is set to launch the province’s historic scholarship for students on December 4.

According to details, Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat Khan confirmed that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz would inaugurate the landmark project on Dec 4. Its inauguration ceremony will be held in University of the Punjab.

According to sources, Rana Sikandar Hayat paid visit to the proposed venue to review the arrangements for the event.

The minster was briefed on the arrangements and preparations. He instructed the administrations to improve its preparatory arrangements.

Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said that more than 68,000 applications have been received for “Honhar Scholarship Programme” so far.

The provincial government has earmarked 130 billion rupees for this scholarship programme which will help realising the dream of education of 30,000 students annually. Under the programme, financial assistance will be provided to students of 65 universities, 359 colleges, and 12 medical colleges.

This scholarship will give total fee of students for their relevant degrees.
