PESHAWAR: (Web Desk) The Khyber Medical University (KMU) has announced the results of recently-held Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT).

As per the results, two students secured the top position with an impressive score of 194 marks in the MDCAT held on September 22.

A total of 670 out of the 41,671 candidates passed the exam with more than 181 marks, reflecting a competitive pool of aspiring medical professionals.

The University of Health Sciences (UHS) held the exam on Sunday in which 167,744 candidates appeared against 18,000 seats across the country.

The MDCAT is a written examination for admission to medical and dental colleges for which 26 examination centers were established in 12 cities across Punjab.

For the test, a total of 58,380 students were registered for the MDCAT exam in Punjab, 38,678 from Sindh, 42,329 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 5,806 from Balochistan, 18,408 from Islamabad, 3,145 from Azad Kashmir, and 739 from Gilgit-Baltistan, according to the PMDC.

In addition, also 259 international students took part in the MDCAT. Meanwhile, mobile and internet services remained suspended within a 500-meter radius of the examination centers in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujrat, and Rahim Yar Khan until the exam concluded.

Advanced surveillance technology was used to monitor the examination centers. Candidates were advised to avoid unethical behavior, as strict penalties would be enforced for cheating.

The MDCAT exam lasted three and a half hours, from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM, and consisted of 200 questions across various subjects. Additionally, mobile phone and internet services remained suspended within a 500-metre radius of examination centres in Punjab and Peshawar.
