
According to the official notification, candidates can now register until Saturday, September 20, 2025, providing additional time for students who were unable to complete their applications earlier.
The tests are designed to streamline admissions and ensure merit-based selection in higher education institutions.
The USAT is a prerequisite for students seeking admission into undergraduate degree programs, while the HAT is compulsory for those applying to advanced research programs including MS, M.Phil, and PhD. Both examinations are organized by HEC to assess students’ academic potential and critical thinking abilities, thereby maintaining quality standards in higher education.

The HEC has confirmed that the tests will be conducted on Sunday, October 12, 2025. Students are advised to complete their registrations online through the official portal at etc.hec.gov.pk

Officials highlighted that the decision to extend the deadline was taken to accommodate the large number of students who had requested more time for registration due to technical issues and documentation requirements.
HEC further urged aspiring candidates not to delay their applications any longer, as no further extensions are expected. The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring transparent, fair, and merit-based admissions in Pakistan’s higher education sector.
