ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): A local court in Islamabad on Friday extended the physical remand of the accused in Sana Yousaf case for three days

The accused namely Hayat was presented before Judicial Magistrate Hafeez Ahmed.

Prosecution representatives including Adnan Ali, Raja Naveed Hussain, and Mazhar Bashir had sought an extension in the remand to conduct further investigation. The vehicle allegedly used in the murder case has been recovered but they are still trying to retrieve the killer s phone, Prosecutor Raja Naveed argued before the court.

He said, “The accused is extremely cunning and aware of the severity of his crime, which is why he’s deliberately avoiding the recovery of the mobile phone.” The prosecution had asked for a 7-day extension, but the court only gave a three-day extension and ordered the authorities to bring Hayat again on June 23.

Sana Yousuf, a 17-year-old TikTok influencer and social media activist with over a million followers on TikTok and Instagram, was shot dead by the 22-year-old Umer Hayat after she rejected his friendship requests and proposals. Within 20 hours of the incident, the killer was arrested.
