PESHAWAR: (Web Desk) The elder brother of JI leader and ex-senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan was shot dead in Swabi’s Ahad Khan village.

Shakeel Ahmed Khan was fatally struck while attempting to interven in a dispute at his neighbor’s house.

The suspect, who had allegedly just killed his own father, struck Shakeel Ahmed Khan when he rushed to help the victim. Police confirmed that Khan was fatally shot in the incident.

Swabi District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Azhar said that the suspect, Kamran, is a drug addict and mentally unstable. Law enforcement officials have initiated a probe into the incident and promised that the suspect will be arrested soon.

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) head Hafiz Naeemur Rehman and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur condemned the killing.

Rehman expressed his condolences to the grieving family, calling the attack a “brutal act of violence,” and urged the government to take swift legal action against the culprits.

Chief Minister Gandapur also condemned the murder, extending his sympathies to the former senator, and assured that the perpetrator would face severe punishment under the law.
