
When the 21-year-old victim of kite string was laid to rest after funeral prayers emotions ran high. Police have initiated investigations to apprehend the unidentified perpetrators responsible for the tragic incident.
Asif Ashfaq was riding his motorcycle when the kite string slashed his throat near T-Chowk Dijkot Road, police said. The police filed a first information report (FIR) under the Kite Flying Act against the unidentified perpetrators.
The chief minister ordered the police to arrest the culprits involved in kite string after CCTV footage of the incident showed the motorcyclist falling on the road after sustaining the string wounds.
The CM also ordered the police and the city administration to take strict action against kite flyers and those involved in making glass-coated strings.
The chief minister expressed profound sorrow over the tragic death, and said that another precious life had lost by the kite string in Faisalabad.
She said, “I give a 48-hour time to the district administration and police to arrest the people involved in the tragic incident.”
After the incident, Faisalabad central police officer suspended the station house officer (SHO) of the Factory Area police station.
However, the legal heirs and local people have questioned whether suspension of the SHO could heal the wounds of the bereaved family.
