Pakistan, Iran agree to solve issues through dialogues
ISLAMABAD: (Suno News) The foreign ministers of Pakistan and Iran on Friday agreed to continue dialogue indicating a willingness on both the sides to find diplomatic solutions to their differences.
During a telephonic conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian on Friday, Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani conveyed a resolute message outlining the nation’s security red lines.
The telephonic conversation came after Pakistan’s retaliatory airstrikes on “terrorist” hideouts set up inside Iran on Thursday. Pakistan had to retaliate after Tehran’s violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty with an earlier strike in Balochistan.
During today’s talks, FM Jilani stressed a need for restoring diplomatic relations between the two neighboring nations. He expressed the desire to address all outstanding issues with Iran within an atmosphere of mutual trust, seeking resolution and normalization of friendly relations.
Jilani also highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding its security interests, and sent an unequivocal message regarding the country’s security red lines.
