Pakistan to shuffle Asia Cup cricket squad due to injuries to key pacers
(Web Desk) Zaman Khan has been selected to replace Naseem Shah in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) team for the Asia Cup due to Naseem’s shoulder injury sustained during a match against India in the Super Four.
The PCB’s medical staff is closely monitoring Naseem’s condition and implementing all necessary safety measures, especially with an eye on the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
Zaman Khan, a right-handed bowler, has previously been associated with the team during their tour in Sri-Lanka and has represented Pakistan in T20 matches. In his six T20’s for Pakistan, he has taken four wickets with an average of 32.5 and an economy rate of 6.66.
Another fast bowler, Haris Rauf, who sat out the Super Four match against India on the reserve day, is also under observation. According to a report from the PCB, he is recovering well after experiencing pain in his right flank on the first day of the match.
Team doctor Sohail Saleem emphasised the importance of these two fast bowlers, considering them as assets to the team. He assured that the team’s medical panel would provide them with the best possible care to ensure their fitness for the upcoming crucial World Cup matches.
