Pakistan Chief Selector Inzamam ul Haq resigns amid allegations of managing players
Lahore: (Suno News) Pakistan cricket team’s Chief Selector Inzamam ul Haq Monday resigned from his post.
His resignation came after allegations surfaced that he was a partner in a company that manages players.
He said that people spoke without research, adding that questions had been raised on him.
“So, I decided that it is better to resign,” he stated.
The development came amid the successive defeats of Pakistan in the ICC World Cup 2023 in India. Pakistan is on the verge of an exit from the tournament.
Allegations surfaced that several top players of the Pakistan cricket team were part of the company that manages players.
Skipper Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were also part of the company, it had been alleged.
The company was accused of getting contracts for the players.
Inzamam said that he was available if the cricket board would initiate an investigation.
He said that people had been making statements without research, adding that he had told the PCB to do their research.
He asserted that he had no relation with the player-agent company.
