No chance of Imran’s release from jail before elections: Wassan
KARACHI: (Suno News) Senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Manzoor Wassan has claimed that there is no possibility of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s release from jail before the elections.
“Even if one wants to get the PTI founder released from jail, one cannot do so,” he said.
“Even if the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government is formed, it will not be able to complete the term,” he added.
Manzoor Wassan said that Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) leader Jahangir Tareen was siding with Nawaz Sharif to get his support.
“Jahangir Tareen has to win the election first. Nawaz Sharif is disappointed. His disappointment is also due to the upcoming government,” he stated.
Earlier on Wednesday, PTI founder Imran Khan said that his party enjoyed full support of the Pakistan Army.
Talking to the media in Adiala Jail, the former prime minister said that no independent inquiry had been conducted in the May 9 case.
“The Caretaker government and the Election Commission of Pakistan have connived, but the Pakistan Army is with PTI,” he said. “They (PTI opponents) can do whatever they want. They can take the election symbol, but they cannot defeat us in the election,” he added.
