Nepra increases power tariff by Rs4.56 per unit
KARACHI: (Suno News) The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has hiked the power tariff by Rs4.56 per unit on account of the monthly fuel cost adjustment for December 2023.
A notification issued by Nepra said that the hike in power tariff would be applicable for one month, adding that power consumers would have to bear a burden of Rs39.80 billion due to the increase in power tariff.
“The hike will not be applicable to the K-Electric and lifeline consumers,” the notification said.
Earlier, the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had requested a Rs5.62 per unit increase in electricity prices. The Nepra Authority had conducted a hearing on the CPPA petition.
