‘Nawaz Sharif won’t become PM for fourth time’
LAHORE: (Web Desk) Senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Asif has said that Nawaz Sharif will not become the prime minister for the fourth time.
While talking to a private TV channel, the PML-N leader said: “Mian Nawaz Sharif will not assume the post of the prime minister, and Mian Shehbaz Sharif will be the PML-N’s prime ministerial candidate. However, the final decision will be taken with the advice of the coalition government.”
He also said, “The name of the new chief minister of Punjab has almost been finalised. However, there will remain suspense about it.”
He added, “The name of Ishaq Dar as the finance minister has not been decided yet. There are signs of a coalition government in the federation.”
Meanwhile, PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said that no decision had been taken yet to make Shehbaz Sharif the prime minister.
“Khawaja Asif’s statement is his personal opinion. His statement was taken out of context. The PML-N has not finalised any name for the prime minister or the chief minister. Consultation with other political parties is ongoing. As soon as a name is agreed upon, it will be shared with the media,” she added.
