Lahore: (Suno News) Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif Saturday reached Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore to address the public meeting organised to welcome him upon his return from abroad after four years.

A visibly emotional Nawaz embraced his daughter Maryam Nawaz and greeted other party leaders on the stage.

Upon Nawaz Sharif’s arrival on the stage, verses from the Quran were recited. A Na’at was also recited in praise of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Nawaz Sharif had reached Minar-e-Pakistan in a helicopter to address the public meeting.

Nawaz Sharif’s copter landed at the historic Lahore Fort where senior leadership of the PML-N welcomed him.

Before heading to the venue for his speech, Nawaz Sharif offered Magrib prayers.

Earlier, Pakistan’s three-time prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif was welcomed by his brother former premier Shehbaz Sharif at Lahore Airport.

Shehbaz Sharif garlanded Nawaz Sharif with flowers. Shehbaz Sharif became overwhelmed on the occasion.

Nawaz Sharif was taken from Lahore Airport to the place of public meeting through a helicopter.

It is to be noted here that a public meeting is being held at Minar-e-Pakistan to welcome PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif on his return home.

Earlier, Nawaz Sharif reached Islamabad from Dubai after four years in a chartered plane.

According to the details, Nawaz Sharif’s plane was delayed before departure. At least 172 people were booked for the flight. 10 people were overbooked due to which the flight was delayed.

While talking to the media at Dubai Airport, Nawaz Sharif said that he was happy to return to Pakistan after four years. He added that the condition of the country was not as good as it was in 2017. “The country’s condition would have been better today. Instead of moving forward, Pakistan went backwards,” he pointed out.

“Cases against me caused damage to the country. We should not lose hope. It is very disturbing to see the situation in Pakistan. Pakistan had bid farewell to the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The country should have been among great nations,” he emphasised.
