Nawaz Sharif invites independent candidates to form govt in centre
LAHORE: (Suno News) Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif has invited independent candidates to form the government in the centre.
The PML-N Quaid, while delivering a speech at the PML-N secretariat in Lahore’s Model Town, said: “We respect not only the mandate of all parties but also the mandate of the independent candidates who won the election in 2024. We want them to come along with us and work together because the country cannot afford turmoil anymore.”
Nawaz Sharif said, “We have to get this wounded Pakistan out of the difficulty.”
The PML-N leader’s offer comes amidst unofficial results showing that the party has bagged 21 out of the 30 Punjab Assembly seats in Lahore while independent candidates won eight seats.
In PP-145, PML-N leader Samiullah Khan won the election by securing 42,579 votes. His opponent Mohammad Yasir secured 38,262 votes and stood second.
In PP-146, PML-N’s Ghazali Saleem Butt won the election by getting 30,587 votes while independent candidate Junaid Razzaq was second with 28,515 votes.
In PP-147, PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz emerged victorious with 51,838 votes while independent candidate Muhammad Khan Madani was second with 46,494 votes.
In PP-148, Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman of PML-N won by getting 37,998 votes while independent candidate Saba Dewan was second with 31,560 votes.
