Nawaz blames Panama case verdict for national crises
HAFIZABAD: (Suno News) Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif has said that the current sorry state of affairs in the country is because of the removal of his government following Panama Papers judgement.
“Five judges made a decision to disqualify the elected prime minister of Pakistan (Nawaz Sharif). It I had not been removed, Pakistan would have achieved the best position in the world,” he added while addressing a political rally held in connection with his party’s electioneering in Hafizabad. He claimed that his government had eliminated terrorism and loadshedding from the country. He said that if he had not been sent home, Pakistan would have become the “Asian Tiger” and the green passport would have gained respect across the world.
But now, the PML-N supremo has cleared various legal hurdle ahead of the Feb 8 general elections such Al-Azizia and Avenfield references. The Islamabad High Court (IHC) acquitted him in the Al-Azizia case, one of the two graft references that he was convicted in. he has also been acquitted in the other Avenfield reference by the same IHC bench.
The case pertains to the Sharif family being unable to justify the source of the income provided to establish Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Hill Metal Establishment (HME) in Saudi Arabia.
