Mohammad Hafeez appointed as team director, Wahab Riaz as chief selector
LAHORE: (Suno News) Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed the former captain of the national team, Mohammad Hafeez, as the team director and Wahab Riaz as the chief selector.
It is to be noted here that after the poor performance in the World Cup 2023, the PCB made important changes in the team and management.
A few days back, bowling coach Morne Morkel resigned, and on Wednesday, captain Babar Azam also announced resigning as captain from all cricket formats.
The PCB, in a statement, said that the responsibilities of the entire coaching staff, including Mickey Arthur, had been changed.
All the coaches will continue working at the National Cricket Academy while the new coaching staff will be announced in due course for the series in New Zealand and Australia.
Meanwhile, the PCB handed over the captaincy of T20I to Shaheen Shah Afridi and that of Test to Shan Masood.
The decision to hand over the captaincy of the ODI squad will be made later, PCB sources said.
Both Shaheen Shah Afridi and Shan Masood will lead Pakistan in T20I and Test formats, respectively, during their tour to Australia.
