Mobile phone services partially restored in country, says govt

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) Following the completion of the polling process for the General Election 2024, the Interior Ministry said that mobile phone services had been partially restored in various parts of the country.

The nation is awaiting the election results, cellular services have been restored in Bhakkar, Sargodha, Taxila, Gujar Khan Chakri, Loralai, Sibi, Jhal Magsi, and all of Sindh except Malir and Karachi, said the ministry in a statement shared on social media platform X.

Separately in another post, the ministry said mobile phone services would shortly be restored across the country.

The interior ministry said in the post, “As a result of the recent incidents of terrorism in the country precious lives have been lost, security measures are essential to maintain the law and order situation and deal with possible threats, hence the temporary suspension of mobile services across the country.”
