LHC Justice Shahid Jamil Khan resigns
LAHORE: (Suno News) Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Shahid Jamil Khan has resigned from his post. He has sent his resignation to President Dr Arif Alvi.
In his resignation, he said: “After having served as a Judge of Lahore High Court for about ten years, I hereby exercise the option to resign under Article 206 (1) of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973 with immediate effect.”
He added, “It was an absolute honour to hold the office, but for personal circumstances, I have decided to turn the page and start a new chapter. An ounce of discretion is worth a pound of wit.”
Justice Shahid Jamil Khan also wrote stanzas of a poem in his resignation.
It should be noted here that last month, the senior judges of the Supreme Court, Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan and Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi, resigned from their positions.
Justice Shahid Jameel Khan was to retire from his post in 2029. He was eleventh in the seniority list.
