LHC disposes of plea challenging Nawaz’s victory in NA-130
LAHORE: (Suno News) The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday disposed of a petition challenging the victory of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid Nawaz Sharif from Lahore’s NA-130.
The LHC Registrar returned the petition stating that the petitioner was not a victim party in the case.
Nawaz Sharif’s victory in NA-130 was challenged in the LHC by Pakistan Mahaz Party (PMP) candidate Ishtiaq Chaudhry Advocate.
The PMP candidate, in his petition, made the returning officer, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), and others parties in the case.
He in his petition stated that Nawaz Sharif had lost according to Form 45, adding that he had declared himself the winner in Form 47 with alleged collusion of the election commission officials.
The petitioner added that he had Form 45 results and demanded that the court order the issuance of results as per Form 45.
He also demanded that the court stop the ECP from issuing the final result, adding that the court order a recount and declare the result of Form 47 null and void.
Also, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Dr Yasmin Rashid challenged Nawaz Sharif’s victory from NA-130 in the LHC.
Rana Mudassar Advocate filed a petition challenging Nawaz Sharif’s victory on behalf of Dr Yasmin Rashid.
“The returning officer has gone home after locking the office. We want an attested copy of the results. After obtaining the attested copy, the plea will be filed in the Lahore High Court,” Rana Mudassar had said.
